PRACTICE
AREAS

Car Accidents

CAR ACCIDENTS

Don’t fight the insurance company on your own.  They are trained professionals and you need someone in your corner.  Join my team.  Together we’ll get a successful resolution for you.

Employment Discrimination

EMPLOYMENT DISCRIMINATION

If you have been fired from your job you may be able to sue for damages.  Your employer cannot fire you from your job due to status in a protected class such as race, creed, color or sex, etc.  You also cannot be fired for union activity.  You can sue your former employer for breaking the law and for lost wages.

Premises Liability

PREMISES LIABILITY

If you have been injured by an unsafe condition on someone else’s property you are entitled to compensation.

Police Misconduct

POLICE MISCONDUCT

Police misconduct is all too common.  If you are the victim of misconduct at the hands of the police you are entitled to compensation.

Head Injuries and PTSD

HEAD INJURIES AND PTSD

These are two areas of injury that are often overlooked.  Emergency rooms routinely fail to diagnose concussions which can affect every area of your life.  PTSD often results from a traumatic event such as a car accident.  You deserve compensation if you are injured in this manner.

OUR VISION -
COMMITMENT TO OUR CLIENTS AS SEATTLE’S TRUSTED PERSONAL INJURY LAWYERS

Each case taken by the Law Offices of Lori S. Haskell is treated with individual care. Cutting no corners, each and every case is fully prepared for trial — not because it will necessarily go to trial, but because being ready, willing, and able to try your case provides a better opportunity to resolve it through settlement.

Know Your Rights if You’re in an Accident in Seattle

Most personal injury cases are based on negligence. If you are injured in an auto accident due to someone else’s negligence or recklessness, you have rights. Washington state is not a no-fault state. If you are in a car accident you have the right to seek full compensation or file a lawsuit through a personal injury attorney.

If you suffered an injury on someone else's property, you may be entitled to compensation. A premises liability case can be proven in conditions that led to a slip and fall, building code violations, or even dog bites.

If the insurance company knows you are prepared to go to court, that insurer is much more likely to present a fair settlement offer.

I have tried dozens and dozens of cases to verdict. Many lawyers in Seattle would prefer to just settle your case and move on. I will give your case individual attention and I will get you top dollar for the injuries, lost wages, and disruption to your life.

My Experience Helps Juries See Your Side of The Argument

I began my working life in a completely different profession — television news. That uniquely prepared me for what I do because the job of a good trial attorney is to present evidence to a jury that visually allows them to understand your experience. I know how to engage a jury and use visuals so they understand what you have been through.

I have taken cases across a wide spectrum. I won the largest verdict Metro has ever had to pay out to a passenger on one of their buses — $1.3 million for proving that unsafe conditions exist on all Metro buses and, as a result, seriously injured my client. I have resolved dozens of car crashes and taken a number of them to trial when the insurance company involved was being unreasonable. I have sued on behalf of a mother who needed to nurse her baby at work and the employer fired her. I proved that court reporters make secret — and illegal — deals with insurance companies to charge them less for legal transcription than plaintiffs have to pay. That practice is blatantly illegal and no other legal professionals across the country had been able to prove such under-the-table deals were occurring.

I Will Fight for Your Civil Rights

I have sued the police for misconduct in breaking down the wrong door of a house in search of a criminal, brought justice to countless car wrecks, and helped my clients deal with everything from head injuries to PTSD.

My promise to you is that I will be your warrior.  Empathy for those wronged is a key ingredient to trial practice and I will walk this path with you every step of the way…

And you only pay if you win.

MEET LORI S. HASKELL - TRUSTED SEATTLE PERSONAL INJURY LAWYER

Lori Haskell, Personal Injury Lawyer

Lori S. Haskell is Washington's 2021 Trial Lawyer of the Year.  She has been a trial attorney practicing in plaintiff personal injury and related matters for more than 30 years. She is uncompromising in her pursuit of justice for each and every client she represents. Lori Haskell offers competent and caring advocacy in personal injury, police misconduct, premises liability, auto collision, and employment law cases. She will not stop until she gets the justice you deserve.

Lori lets the other side know she is ready, willing, and able to advocate on behalf of her clients. Lori has a broad array of experience trying cases and getting them settled in mediation because the case is in a posture that we are ready for trial.

Lori has a unique background having worked in television news for 10 years before becoming a lawyer. She is visual in her presentations and works tirelessly for her clients.

Lori has spent her legal career fighting for justice on behalf of injured people. She has particular expertise in traumatic brain injuries, whiplash, chronic pain syndromes, and traumatic fibromyalgia. Ms. Haskell specializes in auto accident cases and battles major insurance companies when they are more focused on their profit margins than the people they are supposed to protect.

Lori Haskell is proud to stand up for victims of discrimination. She has represented clients against employers in civil rights cases based on race, age, and gender discrimination. She’s also battled against employers and big corporations that have failed to accommodate disabilities, union activity, and HIV/AIDS discrimination.

As a trial attorney based in Seattle, Lori has mentored many younger attorneys having been mentored herself by Justice Tom Chambers of the Washington Supreme Court. An accomplished trial attorney, he saw the fierce potential that Ms. Haskell demonstrated right out of law school.

Lori Haskell, Personal Injury Lawyer

She has written over 40 articles to teach other lawyers in Seattle and beyond the art of personal injury law, is a sought after speaker and has taught at the National Institute of Trial Attorneys. Ms. Haskell clerked for the Alaska Supreme Court before going into private practice for herself. She knows the art of advocacy and applies it successfully for her clients.

Lawyers are often thought of as lacking a sense of humor. That is a characteristic that does not apply to Lori Haskell. In her spare time, she scuba dives around the world, loves to spend time in the sunshine of the Caribbean and reads voraciously. While she loves the Pacific Northwest and will always call it home, traveling and exploring other cultures is one of her passions.

TESTIMONIALS

Black and White Abstract Texture

"Lori Haskell has the talent to do her job with brilliant expertise. She took our case and learned who we were and how we were affected by our accident before she took on the big insurance guys. She went after them and got everything that was legally due to us instead of what was offered to us to settle the case. I believe the best recommendation that we have is that should anything like this ever happen again there is no-one else that we would want to handle our case other than Lori Haskell."
